Laptop Compaq Presario F700 AMD Platform Motherboard Problem

This Week, i wanna show to all of u about one common problem happen to Compaq Presario F700 - AMD platform.

Problem: Seldom turn off suddenly after working in 10-20 minutes.

This one of my customer lappy that have problem seldom turn off after on it.

This pic taken after take off separately between main casis and LCD.

Before u disassemble please noted:

1. Check bios battery
2. Check RAM. sometimes this problem cause by faulty of RAM that failure to working. Failure RAM may cause unable to turn ON your device.
   
3. Check the processor, u can test to another mobo.
4. Check all connector cable that connected properly (eg: power on, LCD, inverter and etc).
5. Please check heatsink and his bolt. make sure it tight because once untight, heatsink can't absort hot temperature and it may damaged your processor/chipset.

This IC's cause overheating and make this laptop shutdown suddenly.

Parts in Good Condition:

• Hardisk
• Processor
• RAM DDR2
  
• All Connector Cable
• AC Adapter
• Keyboard
• LCD Display

Solution:

• Change new motherboard and it cost arround RM550-RM650 (Include Labour charged)

or

• Replacing display IC arround RM350. Need to send at factory for solder process since this motherboard made by machine and u can't solder by using hand made.

My opinion is by send to factory for IC replcaing. For what u need to buy new motherboard? Vendor just give 30days warranty and u will waste half of new laptop cost for this (lappy can get arround RM1499).
